About Laurel E.K. Serieys, Ph.D. and this website
I am a conservation and wildlife biologist that specializes in paired field and laboratory research on carnivores in human-impacted landscapes. I aim to promote biodiversity conservation through research and public and agency outreach. I am presently coordinating the Urban Caracal Project in Cape Town, South Africa, and a bobcat habitat connectivity study in San Jose, California. I am a continuing collaborator on bobcat research in the Los Angeles area. I am currently not anchored to any one place, and so this website helps synthesize the projects I am fortunate to be apart of. I am interested to continue research in Africa with mesocarnivores.
